A word about shoes

Having had to change my shoes to visit Elote, I realised that it was the first time that I had worn my fancy holiday shoes (purchased especially for this trip).  I have a theory that very few shoes are required for a summer holiday compared to a winter holiday this was formulated last winter, when I noticed the incredible amount of footwear needed for a brief trip.

I decided to review my holiday footwear on this trip. I believe that only 3 pairs of shoes are needed on a summer holiday - walking boots, keen sandals and a pair of fancy shoes.

I started the trip with 4 pairs, already breaking the rule, and including a rogue pair of black shoes that had no defined function and have yet to be worn.

In Seattle, we both bought a pair of very cheap canvas training type shoes at Ross Dress for Less, ready to wear at a spinning class if needed.  We wore them all through the Oregon part of the trip.

Next I bought the 97 cent Walmart flip flops ready for camping.  (Yes, we do shower really, and often use the campsite shower blocks, hence the need for flip flops!)

I am now only 1 pair of shoes short of a winter collection.  I better be careful when we get to San Francisco!

Hopefully, the fancy holiday shoes will get another outing before this trip is over!

Yes, I know that a blogpost about my shoes does not really fit into a Stuart's 90 day plan holiday blog, but he has spent all morning reading a book, so I am having a bit of me time!!
